That's just your opinion. Has nothing to do with Linux. And yes I would like a device like a soldered in tpm device that can generate private keys and verify signatures signed with the public key. Your misunderstanding of the technolog

I don't agree that your example makes sense. Don't feel like writing a wall of text. Zero justification for a locked down system.

It needs to come stock on every Linux laptop from now going forward period. Like you expect a screen to come with your machine. Every Mac has one now and I'm not going back to typing my password in every single time.

My professional opinion is that APKs can be de-compiled regardless and that has nothing to do with tokenized payments themselves which are like you said handled through server-server communications at the payment processor level. Your phone

The payment doesn't happen on the device. It happens at the VISA/Mastercard/AMEX level. So "the app" should be doing the validation upstream on the server side and simply reporting yes/no to the app. If you hac

The crypographic flow that allows payments to work is straight up pub/priv key encryption with one time use tokens. It's not something you can hack. As soon you see the token it's already been used and thrown away. So whateve

Device attestation is how you can use private keys you don't actually have access to. It has a lot of value to literally anyone who wants to store tokens or use one time authentication codes. Linux folks need to implement the full stac

Metals refining in space or a no atmosphere place like the moon. If an alloy is discovered that has properties we want I can see some future civilization popping nukes like pellets to produce it.

All of those problems had nothing to do with technology and everything to do with economic mismanagement. And the commies were the worst at it. The US never had famines even at the worst of the great depression.

Watching ffmpeg go from a niche tool for web back ends to what it is now has been incredible.

There have always been people with no tech experience building startups generating spaghetti code. It's just that now it looks a lot more polished.

You know I can just not use that grid electricity, pay the absolute minimum, and then do everything off grid right?

That doesn't really matter when you're buying a house in CA. It's a relatively small percentage of a difference in my overall mortgage. I'd rather have Prop 13 even if that means some people inherit a tax break. Homes th

Feel like I've solved this non problem like 20 times. If your framework is holding your records in a collection and you keep track of phantoms that have been edited but not saved as they are edited then all this becomes a non issue. Th

You are the one that brought up copyright infringement here in your original comment https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49089627 I just pointed out none took place. Anyway I'm not replying in this thread anymore.

That question is irrelevant. Artists may be hired to reproduce copywritten work without the consent of the copyright owner. In this case an LLM is no different from Photoshop. It is a tool. Nothing more.

There's way too much hand waving on this topic. It is legal to produce copywritten work. If I draw Pikachu the drawing is mine. Legally. I am simply unable to make money on it. I can give it away if I want with zero liability. I could

Suddenly it's "copyright infringement" to count the amount of times one word occurs after another word. I find this whole thing so amusing.
