Was this linked because of the design? If so, personally I hate when normal pages do not scroll like normal pages.

Discourse emulates the normal behaviour really well, good for them. After a quick look looks like they do not suffer from the issues I mentioned before. I just do not see any benefits going SPA style when working with data that is essential

Yes, I was a bit too harsh. My point is that discussion forum is almost completly just a collection of documents. Traditional web pages serve that structure really well.

So many TV programmes uses GoPros nowadays. Every outdoor show uses those. They just strap them in the weirdest places. 10 GoPros is something like 5000 euros and with that a fishing show can be sure that they will catch a nice angle when t

I don't get this whole net neautrality discussion that is going on in US (and maybe somewhere else, just haven't paid attention). Consumers pay based on speed of their connection. If ISP feels like the consumers are not paying eno

Is ther any CMS/blog/... type of thing that would create flat files, but keep all the content also in DB? That way search and comments (and especially moderation for comments) would be easier to handle, but still it would be easy

I have Asus Zennbook UX31A (I got only 4 GB of ram, newer version have 8GB) and it works almost perfectly with Ubuntu 14.04 (and older, only thing that does not work is ambient light detector). At least here in Finland they cost about 1100

The thing is that following situation is really common: Company has an average team, maybe even bit worse + 1 good person. The managers are not that great either. Everything is average. The team has been doing something, nobody really knows

Exactly. Then the questions is how we can make most of us to perform better. The answer is not to "be excellent developer". The answer must be in the way we do things.

The ability for software to meet the needs is mostly a technical problem. After all, it is a feature of the implementation. But that is not the bigger problem. The bigger problem is to figure out the needs and that is not a tecnical problem

I'm not sure what part we disagree here. Yes, technical quality matters. But it matters way less than delivering something that users need. And yes, better technical quality ceteris paribus equals better software.

Of course technically better implementation is better if the only thing that changes is the technical quality of the implementation. But it does not follow that doing good software is a technical challenge. It does not matter how fast your

By definition most companies, most teams and most individuals are average. There are very few really good developers and managers. What suits those few does not really matter. They will do great things not matter what. Agile works for most

All these late "agile has failed" posts are out of touch with reality. They assume that it is always possible to get the best developers and best managers to work with the problem on hand. I'm a consultant. Officially my titl

As a consumer I sometimes wish I could pay someone to get newer version of the FW on various devices. On the other hand FW is a crucial part of the devices and I should not have to pay extra for that.

I think that the biggest thing email clients lack today is a decent open source web client. There is SquirrelMail and Roundcube and as far as I know, that's it. SquirrelMail is way outdated (UI wise) so that leaves us with Roundcube. T
