A sad eventuality, but perhaps at least an interesting game. Just saw an trailer for an unreleased game: rollercoaster tycoon, but for parking lots. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3031880/Car_Park_Capital/

btw: this results in a white page on the first load until you manually reload, since the SW has not been loaded yet. May want to force a page reload on the SW install event to fix. also: this is incredibly cool. thanks for writing this up a

Yeah I was wrong. Do we know why the compiler doesn't do it? Surely the output is the same and avoiding branches is clearly faster. Maybe short circuiting requires such an optimization not be made?

I'd expect even without optimizations on, there wouldn't be branches in the output for that code.

If you can't fully connect your results in the game to your skill (because you can't trust if the others cheated), then you can't trust you are improving (or how to adapt to maybe improve). On an evolutionary level, the purpo

It actually is augmenting the history so "hijack" is correct. Weird that back isn't restoring the state. Just stays the same for me.

Pulling the US up to nearer where Russia is, or Russia down to near where US is, is amazing to see how the familiar shapes distort to something nearly unrecognizable.

The real, systemic error is that dozens(?) of engineers worked on that product, supposedly often testing the online component and experiencing that wait time first hand; and none thought "wait, parsing JSON doesn't take that long,

Sure the lower bound is nicer here. But when the tradeoff includes an unlimited upper bound it's not a very attractive option. I guess the most robust code handling both performance and unexpected input would be one iteration of this (

The idea is that ASAN would replace scanf with a function that does additional book keeping when writing to whatever arbitrary memory location the inputs dictate at runtime. It's probably what the PR resolving the issue I linked to doe

What was the testing like for such bugs? Is it somehow automated, or is there a lengthy doc describing the manual testing steps, or are there no tests at all?

You both may be right. It could be that ASAN is not instrumenting scanf (or some other random standard lib function). Though since 2015, it certainly has been. https://github.com/google/sanitizers/issues/108

I searched my name. It gave me a hit for someone (criminal trespass) in Texas, in a year I lived there, with my exact same height and ~same weight, and the arraignment date is my birthday. Wasn't me. Spooky!

Steam can list/launch your non-Steam games, but it isn't open source. Listing non-steam games is also a manual process and there probably isn't any library art associated with the entry if it comes from Battle.net or whatever

Another potential option is to allow for multiple "active" states (everything in view). If the content is long enough, it can kinda work out. As you transition from one section to the next, both headers would be "active"
