This has been done in some cities, but those bike lanes are sitting empty, so there's more to it than that.

The bill gives the US President, currently Biden, the ability to designate social media apps as sufficiently popular and its owning nation as adversarial, mandating a forced sale. Biden approved the law and chose to use it on TikTok. So you

We solved this by disallowing children from voting. Kids these days eventually learn not to trust anything they read on the Internet.

It would cause damage that can be mended, same as how restricting steel trade would definitely hurt or bankrupt some companies caught up in it.

I was always in favor of banning it for this reason, but I'm concerned that Biden is now banning it for a different reason. The timing is interesting. Certain lobby groups have been urging Congress on this due to TikTok videos about th

Hmm, but it gives the US President the ability to decide who is targeted, so one way or another it seems like TikTok is treated specially.

That saying applies to things you cannot take back, like blinding someone, not trade agreements. It's also like an eye for 200 eyes at this point. Tit-for-tat (or some softer variation) is pretty standard diplomatic protocol.

I view it like trade. They block our social media there, we block theirs here. EU did the same when we put tariffs on their steel or something.

Also wonder whether the law names TikTok in particular or just some criteria that matches it. If it's the latter, are other companies also on the clock?

I'd use a flash drive if I didn't also need nav and my wife didn't have online music. So what I've got is a cupholder.

Eh, that's something a lot of people would notice and the government would get involved in, and it's been played out already. I generally trust GM's steering and brakes to work. Infotainment is not their expertise, and if the

It shouldn't matter, it's just music. And one car that failed the test was a $50K Suburban. If it's this flaky, maybe some other car works fine but one day it stops.

It's amusing how some new cars seemingly deliberately have no place to put your phone, while some older ones were specifically designed to hold your iPod.

Depends on lots of variables, overall not something I want to rely on just to play music. Like I got a Chevy rental and CarPlay took forever to pair then proceeded to play distorted music for some reason, while the FM radio worked fine. Wor

Part of it is also Apple. They don't hesitate to break things across OS versions, whether it's on iPhones or Macs. Unlike Windows which will run basically anything ever built for Windows. Also AutoLayout is bad at adapting to new

Yeah but a lot of apps will require the very latest iOS for no reason other than the dev happened to build it that way per Xcode defaults, and some apps will also require you to use the latest version of the app at all times.

Whatever kind of desktop is used, Chrome Remote Desktop is the most reliable way I've seen of connecting to deal with stuff. Better than Teamviewer too.

Android phone will randomly stop working for some reason nobody's ever heard of and possibly with specifics tied to whatever particular phone you got, that's what Apple does better. That and not getting viruses.

Doesn't solve them putting the phone in airplane mode or getting the camera coated in an opaque film, though. Also, every elderly family member with an iPhone has forgotten the iCloud password and asked me why they cannot install apps.

Demand for college has sharply increased, and I don't think we've seen supply meet it yet. That can solve itself, and there are also trade schools.
