I think its an alternative because ollama has no UI and its hard to use for non-developers who will never touch the CLI

Unless you invest to self host models that is going to be the case forever, expecting yearly breaking changes is realistic.

Local is important for compliance with GDPR and closed source software I hate sending my code to openAI or my client's code. I find local llms to be usable for short snippets but still too slow for a lot of things. I just spent hours d

My experience was that reviewing generated code can take longer than writing it from scratch. There was research about vibe coding that had similar conclusion. Feels productive but can take longer to review. the moment you generate code you

Yes but with FHE it also depends on the use-case and how valuable the output is and who is processing it and decrypting the final output. There are plenty of viable schemes like proxy re-encryption, where you operate on a symmetric key and

But if you have a lot of data, self hosting is still cheaper. Its always gonna be cheaper because you don't have the cloud provider's profit margin, which can be quite high.

This is exactly my experience as I started heavily using LLMs for coding. It can feel like a trap,Im sifting through all the generated code instead of reading the docs and finding the correct way to do things, because I expect the machine t

Definitely. But OP is probably on free tier, thats why this happens Vercel is fine for stage deployment but for production even a solar powered raspberry pi is better, if vercel willpause the instance if there is too much traffic.

I love rust but I tend to agree, python tooling should be maintainable by the community without learning a new language. However rust is a thousand times faster than python. At the end, if you don't like it don't use it.

Don't use THFE-rs because Zama requires a commercial license for anything other than prototyping. Their license sucks. Instead use openFHE (C++) or lattigo (golang) libraries which are both free to use commercially.

I agree, the advice lacks forward thinking, but it can be true that his job depends on it. Lot of meth addicts need to be high to function else they can't move or think well.
