A friend of mine have found a fun way to bypass the bios password of thinkpads. With some trial and errors, you short some pins on bios eeprom at the right time so it will read all 0xff’s. It just happen to be that all 0xff’s means the bios

Played a bit around with this a few years back. Made an endless chain of CNAMEs to see how resolvers would handle it. Turned that nothing (bad) happened as the resolvers gave up after a while

Enjoyable article. I am fairly confident that this rootkit would be detected by rkhunter, but possibly only when the adversary is logged into the machine, as the malware hides the pids and network ports associated with their ssh connection.

I had an issue where I could not unlock the car or disable the electronic theft prevention. I guess I pressed the alarm button too many times while I was away from the car, and it went out of sync with the car. This was a tx only key fob. T
