Echoing the recommendation for Remote elsewhere in this thread. I also recommend Cubed: A Secret History of the Workplace. Cubed does not address remote work per se, but it does help explain the history of the office and how that became the

For the record, I also moved from SF to a cabin in the woods, enabled by remote work.

Based on these replies, I guess it is just my bubble. My peers and I graduated into the finance boom and were able to ride the paycheck economy before the Great Recession.

I just left SF for North Carolina. This is merely anecdata, but there are plenty of big city folk here with me, including from SF.

I’m not tied to “the city”. In fact, I rather loathe SF and NYC (just finished a 3 year stint in SF). I’m just anti-suburbs. I’m pro-livable smaller cities like Philly, Austin, Denver, Nashville, Portland, Pittsburgh, etc. I’m extremely bul

This article doesn’t jive whatsoever with my anecdotal experience as an urban dwelling elder millennial. As my friends and family form families, they either stay in the city. After all, having a kid or two and staying in NYC or SF is the ul

WeWork doesn’t own property the same way you don’t own your house. The bank does. You still have an asset though, and so do they. Their asset is what’s known as a leasehold interest. Riskier and shorter duration than owning real estate, but

I don’t understand why laypeople are so confused by how real estate investing works. I build an office building and spend $100M. I “hemorrhaged cash” yet I own an asset that’s going to throw off cash flow for years. It’s the same thing with

You don't understand the business. You think WeWork is for individuals like you. It's not. It's for enterprises. In any case, I addressed their staggering competitive advantage in my original post. They can build space in one

I’ve worked in real estate private equity, specifically office acquisitions, my entire 15 year career and I can say I used to despise WeWork as much as everyone here. After doing the work to understand the business, however, I now take a co

We probably get at least one user a day requesting Pocket highlight support. Although we’d love to integrate with Pocket, we unfortunately cannot because they don’t support highlights in their API. We tell our users to use Instapaper instea
