Writing code to get software builds to work feels like pointless busy work. I feel like something has gone wrong with software development that the task of making software requires so much meta programming.

Voicery and Storyline are the two that connect with my interests. I think Voicery does itself a disservice by featuring a "pick the human voice versus pick our machine voice" demo quiz on their website. I got 100%, and it led me

One day in maybe 1987 I was working at a computer company that had a mainframe and was full of greenscreen microcomputers like the Apricot and Sirius 1. One day, I walked into my work area and this new machine was set up and on the screen w

And yet we must still do "things that don't scale" to build up that demand. The real challenge is to work out when your product isn't being snapped up by users not because it CAN'T be awesomely useful and demanded a

If you say you have a beautiful, powerful, fast, full featured application development system then you need to be able to SHOW me, and its gotta knock me out in every possible way. Nothing here at all for Flutter, just words.

I became quite interested in Flutter recently but it was pretty much impossible to find a range of good demo applications (or any demo applications) that show off what it is capable of so I gave up. LOTS of technical documentation however

It's what comes up when you put jeff@amazon.com into https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/search/ Someone should buy him that Lego - his wallet must be a little light this month until payday.

I'm waiting till he shows significant interest. If that never comes then I'm not going to try to make it happen. Much as I would like to be teaching programming to my kids, if they aren't that interested then such is life.

I have wondered why Paul Graham is so adamant that having cofounders are better than single founder, when cofounders seem to be a key reason for startup failure. I would have thought that the preferred option would be single founders.
