Tom, Thanks for the awesome feedback, we agree it seems like a dating app, and we'll have to work hard to overcome any awkwardness and craft the best experience possible. Our focus is on finding Coders in Silicon Valley, but our big idea is

No Recruiters! You would only meet with Founders and bad startups will get flagged by Coder's rating them.

Sorry about that, we're using another startup's product for the sign-ups. Will take a look.

The key is finding the best fit, not only the "best" Coders. People try to use numbers to evaluate candidates, but at the end of the day, we're all human.

Agreed. We're working on a ranking and reputation algorithm that will only show the best Coders for the Startups. We don't want to waste anyone's time, on both sides.

There are plenty of portfolio sites online, Forrst and the two mentioned below. This is a good article from my friend Wells: http://www.wellsriley.com/blog/2012/startup-looking-for-a-de... The important thing is to know exactly what you'r

There is a solution here, but not everyone will like it. Shitty recruiters do this shit because at the end of the day, it still works. Or works well enough for them to make a decent salary. Really shitty recruiters quit after a year or two

Thanks for this post Bubs. People always ask how can I/they do startups and be a good Dad/Mom/Parent. The flexible nature of our work is key. I can still put in more time than these young Founders and not miss (too often) my most important

I'll probably get flamed/negative karma for this, but here goes. I actually know the folks involved so I won't comment on any of the details. Anthony and Andrew are both doing their jobs. How well they are doing it is up to you to decide. I

I didn't know Adam Nash worked at LinkedIn. :) Very cool HackDay Project man. This should be rolled out to ROW where it would be helpful. Or is it just the Valley where everyone has a computer in their pocket?

Great follow up to the diatom bloom analogy. Investors are partially to blame when they suggest we entrepreneurs "look at what XXX startup and YYY startup is doing." If your idea or market segment is too new / under-served they get scared.

I think this could be a revolutionary way to think about how 'work' is done in a startup. Short sprints of 2 days with time in between to recharge could work well for some. The time constraint forces you to focus and changes your mindset ab
