> It’s sad because that type of person to person social connection is being relegated back to instant messengers which still function more or less like the ones from the 2000s. What about mixing forum-like experience with open messaging?

Really cool! I went to try the translate feature but each time I left-click to open the nav menu (macOs) it deselects the text? I know it says right-click but for me it's left-click to open the menu.

Congrats on launching! Social media consumption is a hot idea. Did you make that intro video yourself or pay someone to make it? If yourself, curious what you used to make it? Good luck!

Agree, but I don't think it necessarily has to be that way. All of these social sites have a core competency/use case, but once they start tacking on features as an effect of the profit motive, it starts to dilute the experience.

Currently building https://sqwok.im after years of using Reddit but seeking a better experience for live conversation. Def not perfect and long way to go but so far it's been fun!

https://sqwok.im (but disclaimer it's probably because I'm working on it!) It's a new open discussion site where each post is a live chatroom.

Have you looked anywhere? Spoken to anyone? Networking is really key to finding good roles imo. There are a ton of jobs out there you just have to find the right one!

Many people have asked for Dark Mode so we added it, and are also going to add a few community-made themes to the site. https://github.com/sqwok/web-theme-js

Hey nice job building this, who's your target demographic? I've seen it posted a few times throughout the last year and working on my own discussion project so thought I'd say hello!
