It is just that renewable forces you to have redundant power generation, massive grid infrastructure, and because they started to early had to pay a massive premium without having the luxury of having developed domestics champions for solar

You are cherry picking the second stats of your document, but the first one indicate that France and USA are very similar. For Paris, it is exactly the same number as NYC : 1h30, the number you used it from an error in the article, if you l

This startup is in France with a 44gCO2eq/kWh electricity using 6gCO2eq/kWh nuclear electricity. Here EV emit 80% less than desiel car when you consider their whole life cycle.

It seems to use the conversion bonus where you discard an old fossil car to a new more efficient one, it can't use the EV bonus because it needs to be a new car, in this case this is a 5000€ bonus, if the law was changed to accept conv

It seems to handle a use case I was looking for. I have a cheap xiaomi aqara hub that is homekit compatible, and I want to exports its data. Sadly usually the use case is to connect a non homekit iot to a homekit server from an apple device

This seems inspired by the recent double episode of the popular podcast planet money, and some contrarian gotcha that we all like to do. Is the npr also infiltrated by the kocks?

But if we need from 8 to 16 weeks of batteries storage for long duration seasonal energy storage, this is not going to work out. https://static.clearpath.org/2018/04/EIRP-Deep-Decarb-Lit-Re...

Almost nobody does that, because solar + batteries would need so much batteries for winter that it is completely unpratical. The only people that I know doing that are extreme ecologist in remote places. And grid access is so cheap like 10€

This is very misleading because the capacity factor of solar is from 10% to 30% and wind from 20 to 30, but every other power source is in the 80%.

Here the specificity is it tries to match against multiple regex, in rust there is RegexSet from the regex engine, it performs a single pass, but I'm not sure it optimize a lot graph for matching. It seems HyperScan can do a lot of opt

It's not a weird focus, there is few more urgent topic than co2, because there is so much useful chemical reaction producing it that humans need or enjoy, and we don't see any reduction in those emissions.

This only works if we are sure that the forest will stay a forest for several hundreds of thousands of years, the time the offseted co2 needs to disappear and absolutely nobody can assure that. Not consuming fossil carbon means it will sta

Those are fake feel good offset, it price a Paris-NYC round trip with 2.2 tCO2eq at 52€, but the only serious future project of durable carbon capture that I know price it at 600$ the tCO2eq, this would be a 1320$ offset.
