notch (of minecraft fame) has done several live coding sessions for various games of his. He's pretty fun to watch, and I enjoy the music he uses too. You can find some of his archives at http://www.twitch.tv/notch/videos

Helpful. I 'know' these, but this is a good cheat sheet to save around. Really like the casual plug of your new project; I signed up :-)

I've seen Austin, TX companies offer between 19 and 23 depending on your academic standing. I've also seen 22 in Cambridge.

Looks interesting. You show street fighter as your first game, yet you're not using Happ nor Sanwa/Seimitsu parts? :-p With most arcade sticks, swapping out the buttons for your own isn't too tough; will that be the case here?

It's a little early for EDM here, so I'll give it a try in a bit. Care to share what it's built in, what your inspiration was, if it's open source/are you looking for help, etc? I'm curious if you curated the lists or if there's some AI on

EMs are great, and I've listened to ~30 of them, but I feel like I'm 'out' of mixes to listen to given what my tastes are. My tastes are definitely pretty diverse, too. I've been hitting youtube for mixes, and you'd be pleasantly surprised

I'm definitely toward the novice end of the spectrum, but GAE scares me with how tightly coupled you can get to it, especially if you use libraries they provide. It took a while, but I really like Heroku's workflow so far and I feel like I

I get the contrarian perspective, and partially agree with it. I think in both cases, however, you have to frequently make sure your reasons are ones you can live with. Many people are concerned with how they appear to their friends and be

Is there a reason you're considering 3 monitors vs 2 (larger) ones? Not implying that 2 monitors is better than 3, just making sure you've considered that possibility.

I'm aware that it's basically HIIT. I'm saying people see results because P90X includes some diet guidelines and I would argue it's the diet moreso than the exercise that produces the results :-)

This is definitely the kind of thing I'm looking for as a graduating senior with above-average (for a student) skills looking to get into startup-ish companies. I COULD get a job with Big Blue, but I don't really want that. I worry that b

interesting! As one of the top performers in my major as a senior, I think I self-inflict this a little bit to keep myself sharp / hungry. Kids call me crazy and say I've had all kinds of success, but I don't compare myself to the apathy

What are you hoping to accomplish? I've been working through python, and it seems like most ruby tutorials are geared toward web development, while python's tutorials are more varied. There are plenty of python webdev tutorials, especiall

Have you worked through any code katas? I find that the end 'solutions' are generally elegant and working through the steps is a helpful way to get there. Obviously your own work will vary, and you'll never have someone else's solution to

Yeah, Google's going to have to do a good job telling people their computers and NICs aren't going to cut it. It's amazing when you're limited by your machine instead of the internet!

having spent the summer on true gigabit internet, it's a shame people won't even understand how big of a difference this makes. Their site makes a cute attempt at it, but I don't think it does it justice. Gig internet just has to be exper
