The larger the board, generally, the harder for the computer to play it, because it can't just pre-calculate all of the possible games. Computers have been beating humans at 9x9 Wei Qi for quite a while, because they can calculate all

Patents are generally structured like "Method for solving XYZ problem". You could patent your FPGA invention, sure, but that wouldn't stop someone from re-implementing it in code.

That implementation of the program in silicon would be patented, but if someone wrote it again as code they'd be good to go.

You take the word 'line' too literally here, it just means a boundary. Reality has very few lines. Using an unnecessarily strict definition for line, you'll find there is almost nothing in the universe that is perfectly disti

For some people who live near the ghetto, that's not really an option. If I'm coming from the South I either have to go through the ghetto, or add another 30 minutes to my ride to avoid it.

As did quadrupeds and bipeds, but if asked to draw a line about their locomotion that is quite easy to do. Have not seen a convincing argument that we will not find an evolutionary line in the sand between sentient and automaton animals.

Work for a company that sells visual programming tools. Our customers absolutely love the functionality. A number of very large organizations are using it: from the military, to Netflix, HP, NASA, Pharmaceutical companies, and so on. The m

The irony here is that using/liking something specifically because it makes you unusual, and wards off people who aren't like you, is exactly what hipster means. So OpenBSD are a bunch of hipsters.
