I'm curious if anyone understands how this might affect exchange rates of CAD with other currencies? I'm aware that other countries are also basically printing money with various COVID stimulus packages. But in Canada, where a lar

There are companies out there today (like https://www.mykeeper.com ) doing something similar in this space with Digital/online memorials where you can create pages for documenting & sharing people's lives. Would be

Didn't realize so much of Canada was mapped. There's some really good imagery of northern Canada and the rockies there. I also noticed that the images don't distort as much around the edges of the screen when rotating the vie

It’s a real pain how slow it is. I’ve resorted to adding quick links to my bookmark bar for GCP products that I use often to get around the slowness.

I can really relate to this. I have had to have a cornea transplant and many other eye surgeries over the past year where I had to be awake during them. I know in a few years I will likely be going through the same thing and I’m having trou

Was this not the premise of the Life Aquatic by Wes Anderson? Essentially we are shown a satirical representation of Jacques Cousteau where Zissou (the Cousteau-type) wants to blow up a shark and fakes discoveries of obviously made up sea c

Not sure if it's still like this, but I got in on KMS early on and I think you could only store Google generated keys. However, I needed to be able to store API keys, passwords, etc... So I used the KMS generated keys to encrypt GCS fi

The way I got around this was to store secrets in Google KMS encrypted files in Google Cloud Storage. The KMS key and encrypted files share the same name and can be accessed by that name programmatically. This secret storage method works re

Is there really any way to securely host static assets in a cloud bucket? If you host profile images, etc... locally you can easily give or deny access to static assets without having to obfuscate the file path. From what I read here, the d

AFAIK stocks are up due to the announcements that the lock downs will be ending. However, the surge seems rather short sighted: you can coax stores into reopening, but you can’t force people to go out and shop in them like they used to.

It seems that you consider the sharpe ratio to be not worthwhile. Would you be able to elaborate on that point? As someone who is getting into algotrading, I’m currently using the sharpe ratio to quantify risk, but would like to hear anothe
