We agree in full that women face these problems across tech and also in other industries. However, this is not evidence of a uniquely bad problem in tech which can explain why tech has a gender disparity (which occurs primarily because wo

This is definitely a large part of the picture but it's also possibly partly genetic when it comes to the science and tech fields. I'm talking about interest and not competence. Women tend to self select out of science and tech in

I think we agree with that statement of fact that it's zero sum in dollar terms. I would only object if we were to take that further as a commentary on the goodness or badness of such an occurrence, since the nature of every transacti

The pawn shop is the market maker (ie trader) since they hold inventory and provide a bid ask spread. Exchanges don't provide this service. I could make the same claim that you've made about pawn shops as a reductio ad absurdum. T

I think this kind of manipulation would only happen at quarter end, perhaps month end and derivatives expiries. It's otherwise normal to expect price volatility leading up to the auction because traders want to minimize information lea

It's positive sum in utility but zero sum in dollars. People get caught up on the latter when all that matters is the former. Think of a pawn shop on a street corner. They trade by making markets, engaging in a zero dollar sum game. Bu

A lot less for sure. I've met many top 10 university graduates who are 30+ and have nothing to show for it with little respect in their domains and mediocre job prospects. It certainly is a massive help in the early 20s though.
