I agree. The intended audience agrees. The general population could care less and will continue to use spyware. I think the real question should be how do we go about making the public care?

The primary problems are private equity buy up and rich foreign buyers. Prices would have already collapsed finally if not for the latter. Not possible to build our way out of this mess. It's a population problem in the numerical. An i

You will have better luck getting people to adopt Monero than to get legislatures to pass payment neutrality. Same with enforcement. The trend in Western democracies is less freedom, more control, more surveillance etc. Mind you, both odds

Ex-MAGA can range all the way back to 2016. You assumed 2024. I last voted in 2020. Not that it matters. But to clarify.

Ya good point. Just because the tools haven't been used on me personally doesn't mean they aren't already being used. I assume they used for J6 riot.

As a former MAGA it's just mind boggling to watch all the supposedly freedom loving GOP base clamor for mass digital surveillance and gestapo immigration raids. These same tools and policies will just be used against them in the future

I pray LLM's put programmers out of work. You don't enjoy it anyway, just bills etc. Learn to enjoy gardening or something.

Anyone else interested in generations and eras? When did the "knowledge economy" begin in the West, late 60's? Anyway I imagine LLM's are in the process of killing off the knowledge economy. Personal computers expanded i

80 million people died during WW II. That's what caused the baby boom. I assume birth rates also rose after the black death. Babybooms and societal renaissance I think only happen after cataclysmic events.

I feel like Portugal had the same problem with wealthy foreigners purchasing all the real estate.

I promise I'm not gaslighting you. The majority of individuals buying residential real estate where I'm located are new arrivals or 1st generation. The Chinese circumstance is bizarre and has been going on for over 10-15 years. So

You correctly blame corporate buy up of real estate as a problem but nobody ever cites upper income new immigrants as a problem. Where I live the only people purchasing $600k - $1 million residential properties are newly arrived Chinese, Ea

"Convince me I should fund people to focus full-time on things where they can't make a living" - because you wrote the programs that made their job (like everyone else's job) obsolete/automated?

This doesn't sound factual to me. The children you quoted as being "kidnapped" lived in regions of Russia that voted to secede from Ukraine. They are defacto Russian citizens. Their parents voted for it.

Fascinating and true point, but considering the former are the only group technically capable of implementing it, you'd assume they would have an outsized role dictating the terms of engagement.

Does this Irish privacy watchdog investigate Tik Tok data transfers to the Irish government, U.S etc? If not, it's a case of powerful institutions fighting over who has spying rights to their serfs.

Digital fascism is the future. The majority don't care. A friend wanted to stream a clip from YouTube with me on discord and actually chose the completely DMR ridden YouTube Discord app instead of just streaming directly from YouTube.

One point that I think seperates AI and human intelligence is LLM's inability to tell me how it feels or it's individual opinion on things. I think to be considered alive you have to have an opinion on things.
