I'm more of a coder (and highly prefer adhoc/throwaway POC coding) but slipped into the same thing. By being someone who fixes the annoying problems I've bumped into useful people in various departments which helps bring thin

Same. Haven't heard anything bad about this in particular, though the scores seem quite inflated so you want to see at least a 4.x around here to bother reading the review text in most cases.

This could be stored on a computer now, though. But numbers can be fudged. Taiwan had an interesting way around this with a receipt lottery. Ask for a receipt, it has a number on it that enters you in a lottery. Presumably the generation of

Like others said, for non-interactive media it is mostly pointless, but for executable code (especially stuff that's online or will update a lot, like games) it does some work.

Thanks for that. I found this interesting old discussion on Denuvo too (skim/skip the OP, seems to be BS, but the top comment is interesting). https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackStatus/comments/43dgej/how

I'm not sure what they call it, but Windows does get in the way for things you compile on your own machine. I compiled the JuicyPotato exploit and tried to copy it to another local folder and got error 0x800700E1 and the EXE went missi

It's what bigcorps do to monitor employee traffic, my work laptop has a certificate installed so they can snoop and proxy traffic. Setup will vary by proxy and OS but here's one example (which I haven't used but at a glance s

Around here I'll often go somewhere and ask for "your smallest size of chips" or something, and they'll tell me they don't have small, only regular. OK thanks for that unnecessary interaction.

Not many, and AFAIK none have in-app purchases that Apple is missing out on. If they do then it's not enough to be worth starting a fight over yet.

I assume the difference (to Apple) is that movies generally don't have varied accounts and in-app purchases. You can't buy MTX to reskin the Avengers in Endgame (yet) or unlock extra DLC chapters (well Disney+ is trying I'm s

At that point why bother? Why would I spend my time and money for something that is simply not my problem? To do the right thing? The bank doesn't consider it the right thing. It's not clear that the law does.

The way around this seems to be for politicians to voice religious opinions, which makes some things that churches say de facto political opinions. Seems like it should be banned on their side too, but that's a bit thorny.

Does AI like this incorporate negative/positive punishment into learning as well as reinforcement? Is there an equivalent of slapping it and saying "No! Bad AI!" so it drops the association more quickly?
