I read your definition, and thought, "Yeah, I'm an introvert because I like to recharge alone." But then my next thought was, "Actually, it depends on how I'm feeling." Often I seek company because I like to recharge with other people. Am I

How can you effect a change in culture down the barrel of a gun while claiming to be friends? That was the gist of the plan at the time. Anyway, we're probably straying too far from the point of the article...

Given a time when everyone was told there was a great threat from the aggressive expansionism of the Soviet Union and China, they felt they had a good reason. They thought Vietnam would result in a domino effect across the region. I don't t

I don't believe most voters use a rational process to pick who they vote for. It seems to me that selling a politician is no different to selling washing powder and that's probably best done through TV. Most voters simply feel compelled to

I totally agree with what you say about subjectivity. I actually liked the HUD but my overall feeling is that it all needs to be refined and I certainly wouldn't give it to my parents like I would an iPad.

They weren't bugs really. They seemed to be fundamental decisions they've made about how the thing works. Maybe I'm being stupid and that's why I'm being downvoted but am I to infer from this that this UI is for the super-intelligent elite

The same applies to music. There are great variations in taste and there are people who exist who can't appreciate music at all. But it would clearly be absurd for them to claim that music is a case of emperor's clothes. I see your point th

This week I tried Ubuntu 11.10 on VMWare and absolutely hated it. Nothing makes sense in Unity! If you're going to make something different at least make it more efficient or more intuitive - it's neither. I ended up going with XFCE not fro

You forget the value of people who work well together as a team. Individually they might not be anything special but together they can produce great results. Personally, I hate the idea of abstracting people out to fungible goods that a com

Think of some art you really like, then find someone who doesn't feel anything from it. Now try explaining why you like it to them. That's what you're asking us to do.

I've had someone say this about all of poetry. All of it... It takes some breathtaking arrogance to think that a good chunk of educated and intelligent people are indulging in pretending to 'get something'.

Better in what sense? I don't like Safari and Chrome has turned into a buggy mess for me, whereas Opera is always stable. I've given up on the huge bloat of Firefox. IE is terrible. What's left?

Yeah, the parent makes the point not to conflate the NSA with 'the US Government'. There's the adage that a team is only as good as its least able member - guess that would apply to the US Government's knowledge of IT security.

I guess I'm a fickle customer. I buy things when I'm not sure if I want them (especially clothes and shoes) but I have no trouble taking them back to the store and saying I changed my mind. I feel I'm taking a risk and if it works out the s

It doesn't take long to look up that the Syrian government was formed as a result of a coup decades ago, especially if you're going to make a comment about it. EDIT: Actually I think there is a good point in your post, but I still think tha

A one-off deposit of 2000 bottles has a negligible impact on the Patch. To tackle that, we need to fundamentally re-think a lot of the ways we conduct ourselves.

My interpretation of democracy is that it needs a legal system that works, and I believe that means it has to be fair and transparent. If the fabric of a legal system is corrupt, what's the point of politics?
