This wasn’t specific to the Treasury. BeyondTrust has a remote support product that gives support teams access to users desktops. It’s both SaaS and on-prem. BeyondTrust were hacked and a vuln was found in the remote access product. Anyone

Should probably have a [2019] tag, as things do change through time. I always enjoy the self-hosting explanations. Starting with mail is an interesting choice though. It's relatable to most people, but also very complex compared with a

Title should be "87.4% of world’s population experienced a decline in freedom from 2020 to 2022" "World's" in there is pretty important.

Minidisc has always been my fav music media. I had a Sony 4x CD and MD deck, so could copy friend's CDs onto minidisc at 4x speed, which was pretty impressive in the late 90s/2000. Came with title text, no skipping, tiny size, no

Even within humans it’s socially unacceptable to walk up to people you don’t know you are eating and strike up conversation, eg in a restaurant. Disturbing eating is a pretty broad no-no across the animal kingdom. Then again, if the orca wa

I can't remember, I gave it a go for a couple of days, switching between Win and Linux installs to make sure settings and the like where the same to be fair. In the end perf was bad, so wiped that drive and now it has more games on it.

I like the idea of a todo list that comes with a built in auto-delete. You either do your to dos, or it auto-deletes them for you. No worry about it getting full, but also some pressure to actually get them done or they'll be wiped. An

Rather than pure leetcode in interviews, I like really simple take home activities. I know take-home’s aren’t well liked either. But, make it really simple and provide a fit repo to commit into. Provide the marking rubric. Then you actually

Time for the TSA to install more checkpoints. I guess we really do need to microchip and track everyone to prevent this sort of thing.

Typically not a literal pcap. Not just wireshsrk running persistently everywhere. There are systems you can buy (eg by Pico) that you mirror all traffic to and they store it, index it, and have pre-configured parsers for a lot of protocols

Pi-Hole doesn't need an actual Raspberry Pi. The software runs fine on a lot of hardware. I have it dockerized (via ansible) and deployed on a couple of regular mini-PCs. You can run it on a lot of hardware these days, or containerized
