It's good to see that it still seems to be reasonable to create new compositors. The amount and diversity of requirements regarding this type of software seems to be still managable. That was one of the concerns I had regarding giving

I bet this will be just as successful as the assistants we had thus far. Whether it was the office assistant popping up in Word 97 or Samsung's Bixby button.

Yes, you are of course right. The comment was maybe a bit too passive aggressive. Sorry about that. There are more things to consider than just the terms of service and a moral or implied obligation of course extends past twitch and amazon

That's exactly what keeps me from even considering many subscriptions. As long as they're not clearly ad-free I don not care to even try them to check whether they are. I'll happily pay for things like LWN, though, even thoug

Is it? Maybe twitch could make the terms more easier to understand. As it stands, it's a wall of text, almost nobody will consider. At first glance, I don't see any clause similar to what you suggest.

Normally, firmware does not make the driver itself less open source. I get it and I'd also like for all components of my devices to be open source. Still, the parts I really care about and have any idea of how to fix stuff in, are open

I do love AMD because its drivers are open source as opposed to nVidia. However, is "less issues" really the case? I sure hope not, for nVidia's sake. My AMD graphics experience, on APUs and dedicated GPUs, has been plagued w

It should be noted that a lot of things are still illegal and are being worked on. Two examples: You are not allowed to share cannabis. The amount of THC in your blood that would make it illegal to drive is 1 ng/mL blood serum. This is

Admittedly, adding a private member variable changes the object size and thus the ABI and thus requires recompilation of dependencies. Thinking about that, is there any case in which private functions can end up in a vtable? In that case,
