I'm thinking the same thing. Is there some kind of circumstance where I'd want to use this instead of SSH? I'm hardly inclined to fix what isn't broken at the best of times, but the p2p element just seems weirdly superfl

Not yet, you're right - but if the World Bank is to be believed, it has raised 900 million people out of extreme poverty. That's astonishing compared to how everywhere else seems to be doing. > weather is a bit muggy On a rainy

True, although as I understand it China has risen further and faster. Point taken though. Nigeria is one to watch on this.

I'm not generally in favour of elite universities so don't deeply disagree with the sentiment, but is there actually a way to justify more money under the pattern you established in your comment? I'm guessing your intention w

Global inequality has sort of fallen, insofar as China has reportedly lifted 800 or 900 million people out of extreme poverty. I suspect that's not what their were referring to though..!

In almost every sector of the economy, companies partner with suitable university departments and then oddly enough the universities never get any patents, but the companies do. This is due to how our intellectual property laws work, not an

There's an entire world between FAANG and what you described. Most places will want something like this: "We need two or three seniors who, between them, can handle the fact that our cloud resources are split between AWS and Azure

The point is that an engineer at a FAANG likely owns a miniscule fraction of the stack, whatever that may be. The average company doesn't need or want someone who is so deeply specialised.

This - over specialism is career suicide. Most places I've worked have a maximum of three tiers of skillset in their mix, namely devops to handle CI, prod, etc back end devs for caring about API side stuff, and frontend for giving a da

I've no objection to invective against them, but the people making the rules are quite content for us all to be distracted from the task of working out what change would look like and then agitating for it.

Fair point. I'd honestly not considered the flaws of DNSSEC and how they play with DANE. Another day in tech, another deep sigh.

Classic of the genre. I remember around the time of the diginotar horrors looking at DANE and DNSSEC. As I understand it, DANE still isn't supported by browsers, and DNSSEC is still in a pitiful state.
