From my understanding GraphQLs powerplay is in consolidating data sources rather than endpoints. That it all came through one endpoint was just a bonus.

I know the typical piece of advice is to never rewrite but I am going through a similar situation and a rewrite would probably have been better and simpler. The key is though, you don’t rewrite the code, you rewrite the app. Figure out what

And if an app/package did grow to the point it needed its own repository, all the packages depending on it just need to update their dependency configuration to the new source.

I found that treating each directory as its own separate application or package is helpful. If you need to share resources between multiple apps/packages, use your dependency manager, most of them seem to have some sort of way to use l

We probably do that but EDI is the only automated solution available aside from scraping their web site. Depending on the time of the month the request can be small or several account numbers at once. We try and keep track of when the last

The bulk data part. EDI would likely be more useful when you want updates on 100,000+ records at once, each record with multiple fields.

They really shouldn't be pitted against each other. They have some similarities but typically EDI is intended for bulk data transfers where a Web API is more suited for smaller amounts of data, like one record per request/response
