Perhaps, yes. My main thought was there wasn't a lot of thought behind choosing the license back then.

I wouldn't be all that surprised to hear the real reason Rails chose MIT license was because that's what everyone else was doing. I remember there was a surge of projects on Github, almost all of them MIT license.

They should probably reword it so that "free services" and "abuse your privacy" is not so closely linked in that case.

I think it's really a perceived monopoly. Apple has created such a great thing that everyone wanted to get in on it but some people don't want to pay the Apple premium. Because most of their market is Apple App Store, they can mak

I'm not so sure it's the best argument but I get what they're saying. The problem is, the argument basically says all free apps are bad, all paid apps are good. The price of an app isn't a good indicator of its intention

This seems like it’s going to harm more people than help. Encouraging fiscal irresponsibility under the guise of improving your credit score. All it’s really going to do is give lenders another metric to deny you a loan, either because of d

I remember years ago, we had an opposite experience. Not necessarily with pipes. We were running on Linux with a php app that would communicate with a soap api on .net and found that a .net implementation had better response time.

Is there any precedent for this yet? This sounds like some overeager lawyers talking out of their ass hoping you don’t call them out for it? It sounds like it’s for a very specific situation that really doesn’t apply to most people.

Does anybody care, besides you, that you’re ISO 27001 compliant? I thought SSAE 16 and other SSAE standards were the main things people were concerned with having?
