Not really related to the debate but I highly recommend Watchtower [1] when using Docker in production. This library, that you can plug as a service in any docker-compose, will check your Docker registry to see if the images used by your co

Hi, author here, thanks for your comments! I definitely understand that the alternatives seem to be better but in my case, as stated in the post, we are dealing with a very old design (that I didn't make by the way) where the two main

I would love to see something to exclude or ignore some patterns in titles or links. I browse HN every day to read good tech posts and comments but I'm a very anxious person (especially these days of course) and seeing articles about d

I use Hadolint[1] as a CI job to check if my Dockerfiles follow the good "rules". But there is one rule that annoys me the most and which is also present in this article, is the pinned OS package version rule[2]. While I understan

Just tested on some movie snapshots, doesn't seem to do the trick to me on Google Images (and the noise is very noticeable). Shame, I thought I would be able to trick Google Images and stop giving away answers for my movie quiz game th

I use it for a long time now, nice piece of software. The only problem I have is related to requests per app. For example, a Sublime Text plug-in (TabNine), even if I allow permanently outgoing connections the plug-in has to make, LuLu will

Coda was one of my first real editor. Sure it wasn't complete but it helped me getting better before switching to Sublime Text. I just pushed a theme for Nova called "Hivacruz", the same I created for other applications. Hope

I highly recommend the CS50 course to get familiar with C: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhQjrBD2T381L3iZyDTxR... Sure it doesn't get in details about the language but you get the essential and the videos are

I'm always sad when I think about the Concorde. It was such a great plane ahead of its time when it came out. I wish I had the chance to fly on it once.

Thanks for the list. In my case, when I started doing ML/DL projects, I was looking for many many tools that could help me organize/train/deploy my model. I remembered looking at Kedro for days which looks great, or MetaFlow

What I love about PHP is its learning curve. You can quickly start making things. I started two decades ago with dirty PHP mixed with HTML pages, then I learned templating. Then I learned OOP, classes, interfaces, abstract classes, traits,
