I thought about creating a meta CSS UI Framework for every major Desktop UI. Would be great to find some contributors to this endeavor..

Anyone noticed that the File Vault password also seems to leak? https://www.flickr.com/photos/osr/16139512701/lightbox So basically a File Vault disk encryption is useless? Any clarification would be welcome

Ruby seems to continuously move forward. Great to see that they manage to keep this project alive without a python 2vs3 disaster.

It is interesting to see so many different opinions on this topic. In my opinion it really depends on the kind of problem you want to solve. For very simple things it can feel stupid to load in a huge js framework. If one wanted to create s

That's also what I experienced. Yosemite UI Performance is super slow compared to Mavericks. Maybe by rewriting the UI Code they also got rid of speed optimizations from the Bertrand Serlet era :/

Why do I get a downvote for this? Angular 1.2 weights around 108kb and jQuery around 1.11 around 96kb and one gets a whole lot of extra functionality with angular if you use its strenghts correctly.

I started to use Angular instead of jQuery. It comes with jqlite and a lot of the stuff I would use jQuery for (e.g. form validation) can still be easily done.

I realized a few weeks ago that Dave Gamache started a 2.0 branch. Skeleton was always nice to use and very lightweight. Great to see it is back. It is a nice boilerplate that doesn't come in that heavy as bootstrap.

I would have written my apis in golang and not nodejs. Go is way faster in my experience and it feels leaner to create something because creating a web service can be productively doneout of box. Node apps tend to depend on thousands of 3rd

Interesting to hear your opinions about Yosemite. Yesterday I had a conversation with an apple employee and he also confirmed that they are aware of the UI performance problems. I expect apple to fix this soon.

Python + Flask is nice but has serious performance constraints. I guess I found a bug in Flask or Werkzeug that restricts requests per second to a value below 600 req/s. See here for more details: https://medium.com/@ts
