Their layout gets busier and busier with each iteration. I can't claim to love all of it, although some of the changes might make reading easier -- like the thin horizontal lines between comments, or larger in-line image previews.

Playing speed changes over time, and the problem with continuous scroll is that musicians often need to look away from the music -- at their hands, feet, at other musicians or the conductor -- and if the music has moved in the meantime, it

It's impossible to do that with a lot of non-standard notational music. And even with standard music, "the beat" is annoying to track and changes FAR more than you'd expect. Good musicians are constantly altering the beat in subtle and unsu

I have a friend who has worked support for Braintree (he moved into coding but still sometimes helps out with support) and I can promise you their support blows Paypal out of the water. It's a pretty awesome company.

Wish there were an iPad version of this... Hacker News HD crashes a lot on mine, and I'd be willing to pay $4.99 for a nice interface with cacheing.

I wish I could check it out in more detail from my iPad... but what I can see looks nice! Have to look later from a Flash-compatible computer.

I like this blog (other entries of which have been posted here before), but I find it a bit misleading that it shows up on HN as coming from "harvard.edu" -- which I assume to be Harvard's official web portal. (Clicking through reveals it t

Obviously incredibly cool, but at the same time, how often do you want to see what is behind your monitor? Other than storefront windows and cars I would think it would be distracting to have everything be transparent. But it is very, very

Yes, I believe the Times generates more than enough content to warrant paying -- I look at the last few years as probably some lucky free-period that should have ended a while ago. I just think their plans are misguided and overpriced. In t

I love the NY Times, but I'm angry at both the subscription options and their price points. As has been pointed out elsewhere, they make no sense: $x = NYtimes.com (website) + smartphone app $y = NYtimes.com (website) + tablet app $(x+y)

It reminds me of the iPad (original) not having as much RAM as the iPhone 4. Does it make the iPad (original) impossible to use? No. But it's a shame in a new product to have a less-than-stellar component.

The ridiculous thing about the Acela is that it's significantly more expensive than the "normal" train, but only cuts about 40 minutes from the trip. (Checking Amtrak.com showed me ~4:15 for the normal train, 3:36 for the Acela.) When I was

I love listening to Steve Reich while I'm working -- minimalist music but with sexy harmonies. I'm a musician so I can't put anything too aurally interesting on, but Reich puts me in the right place. Try it sometime. Music for 18 Musicians

It's probably using "Church" or Italianate Latin -- i.e., Latin as spoken in the Vatican -- as opposed to academic Latin. I like the fake-parchment effect you get if you translate from something --> Latin.
