I'm coming from a classic ASP background as well, and jumped straight to MVC (skipping Web Form entirely). Only later when I did some WPF project, when Web Forms made some sense. I think the whole toolset is basically trying to lure &#

Yup, just got the 500GB Samsung 840 EVO to run my development VMs on it. It's TLC, so a bit slower and it won't last as long, but for almost 30% cheaper it's good value.

What the GP comment meant that the robots won't deviate from the parameters. Contrast this with a human operator, who are instructed to drive at specific speeds at each road section. Perhaps due to fatigue , overconfidence (e.g. I drov

'Vehicle and driving' are actually one of the major risks in mine operations, for the reason you just described. Fatigue, overconfidence, complacency, or simply momentary lapse in focus can lead to dire consequences. There are con

Finding qualified people to drive these trucks are actually quite hard. There's a lot of misconception that you can apply for these jobs and start making $150k+ immediately (and somewhat the media helped fuel that perception). The ap

Thin clients for VDI for one, and the trend does seem to go that way. With current generation hardware, a good 1U server can support 50 - 100 desktop simultaneously.

Same here, I hope there will be a spill-on effect on Mono. I was particularly pleased when MonoDevelop 4.0 got the new Xamarin Studio UI. A bit vain, I know.

What's specifically your objection? I am happy to pay for the license for a guarantee of continuing (and timely) updates. Plus, looking at their target market, I don't think free, open source model would be as effective. Disclaime

I agree, ignore the Modern UI stuff and it is a better, faster Windows 7. If you don't mind parting with $10, I recommend purchasing the Start8 and ModernMix from Stardock. Boots straight to desktop, gets the old start menu back, and r

We use JIRA with GreenHopper to support Agile at work. The users mostly just go to the Card / backlog views and I can say it's working pretty well. Not as smooth as Trello, but still good :)
