I agree. I wish the Free Software crowd had adopted it - they sorta did with GNUstep - but unfortunately it doesn't receive the attention it deserves. Anecdotally I've noticed many C and C++ GUI frameworks, like Gtk and Qt, reinve

Yes, because it's easier to mix Objective-C with C and C++ code. Personally I'd lean towards Objective-C regardless because it's a simple and stable language.

Code that's full of memory bugs is likely full of other bugs too. Improving testing methodology, perhaps establishing official guidelines, would address ownership issues and more. The goal should be to write robust software, because ro

You don't need a borrow checker to write reliable programs. If anything the Rust obsession with memory safety has been harmful since it detracts from general safety. But don't take my word for it, maybe consider what the co-author

I was always a little surprised C never had an integer type the size of a native word. Probably the closest thing would be intptr_t since pointers presumably use a single word to represent addressable memory.

It doesn't need to. Memory issues are easy to catch with good tests and Rust approach to memory safety has its own trade-offs.

Why don't you build something you want to use? Chances are if you need it other people do too. If you can't think of anything, then ask other people what problems they have and consider how you could solve them with software.

I'd say the original already isn't ambiguous: Kenobi directly tells Luke that Vader murdered his Father. The "from a certain point of view" scene had to be added in ROTJ to explain away the retcon.
