You initially complained about CLIs, not the dependency mess of the JS ecosystem. You still have not said why this is an issue of having a CLI.

I guess anyone/anything using a non-graphical interface should just not use a password manager for some reason? Not to mention that a graphical application is just as vulnerable to supply chain attacks.

Does the CLI auto-update? Edit: The CLI itself apparently does not, which will have limited the damage a bit, but if it's installed as a snap, it might. Incidents like this should hopefully cause a rollback of this dumb system of force

I'm not very convinced by the thesis of this post. When I look at book prices, I'm not thinking "well they're cheaper when adjusted for inflation!". I'm thinking "damn, this costs way too much to buy unles

There's a massive amount of demand at the current price point, this does not exclude a bubble considering that the current cost to consumers is lower than what capacity expansion costs. Though nowadays it feels like the bubble is going

Officially it'll be "called" when a politician feels like it's solid enough proof for them to leech off of it. Scientifically, it'll be called when there's too much evidence to genuinely dispute it. Probably wh

Were Meta employees forced to work for Meta? Not that I agree with the idea of blaming all Meta employees (e.g. janitors, drivers etc don't deserve the blame), but I do think the ones doing the computer work deserve some blame.

The only thing they'd need to do to enjoy the positive PR from the DoD spat is shut up and improve (or at least not worsen) product. Even the downtime would've been fine (as GitHub shows). Instead they're pissing it all away

Upgrade cycles have slowed down in recent years, the improvements are relatively incremental nowadays. Screens, durability, processors, storage sizes, cameras, even battery life are okay-ish and aren't improving quickly enough to justi

The most well known thing about Musk besides being an asshat, is that his timelines are almost always imaginary. He is not building fabs on the Moon in "just a few years".
