My understanding is that since Red Hat restricted the source availability for RHEL, Rocky is using the following loopholes to gain binary compatibility with RHEL: 1. Using OCI images of RHEL (i.e. on Docker Hub) 2. Using cloud server images

It’s actually really cool (to me) the irony that both of these games are over a decade old — ancient in the computing timeframe, I would argue — and so widely appealing to all age ranges. Roblox released in 2006 [0] Minecraft officially was

In this realm, I’ve been happily using 1Password’s Operator for Kubernetes secrets. Feel free to ignore the Nix stuff, but I’ve outlined how I create entries with the 1Password CLI: https://github.com/heywoodlh/flakes&#

One question I have as someone who tries to maintain (some) data sovereignty: is there any way as an end-user to circumvent/mitigate this kind of surveillance — aside from abandoning iOS and Android completely?

I recently had a coworker share a resume they had created with LaTeX. It was beautiful. As someone not as interested in committing fully to LaTeX — but wanting a similar outcome — I found that I could achieve a pretty but easy to edit resum

One tiny irritation for me on Wayland+GNOME is the lack of an Unclutter alternative. Is there any Unclutter alternative that works on Wayland+GNOME?

I eventually want to go that route. Would love to have something like: heywoodlh.wezterm.enable = true; But, ultimately, it boils down to that I haven’t gotten around to it yet. :)

I’ve been addicted to using Linux for nearly a decade, so I relate to this. I’ve been using Nix off-and-on for 4-ish years, but have really invested/contributed to it this year. Making Nix (particularly with flakes) my primary dependen

As a heavy Linux user myself, I was wondering what kind of functionality you would gain from running Linux on a DS (aside from the obvious learning experience and “because you can”). I found the FAQ[0] answers this nicely. Basically, it boi

Interestingly, they seem to address this on their legal page[0]. Despite this, it does seem like just installing Windows and then attemting to debloat post-install is the least risky option than just trusting a third party Windows installer
