My Galaxy S4 was thinner than my subsequent iPhones, and had an easily removable back and battery. That said, the battery life was pretty bad, so that was a necessity.

Techmoan somewhat recently did a video on the 2xl, including breaking down the various tracks on the 8-track. https://youtu.be/amuRIydCoJk

I’ve interviewed over the years and kept touch with colleagues who went elsewhere. There are certainly tracks I could have taken to raise my salary more aggressively, but at my current salary, I wouldn’t call it a massive amount of money. I

Counterpoint, I am also a senior engineer. I was hired as an L1 support specialist talking with end users almost 20 years ago. I was promoted through the ranks of support followed by software development. Over that time, my salary has incre

It is absolutely possible, you just need to find company/team with an established product that is not trying to mimic a startup. I work 8a - 5p M-F, and have done so for over a decade.

I have it set up with the Amcrest app, so I still get notifications, I can do two-way audio, etc. The motion / person detection is happening on-device, as it is not sending a stream to Amcrest. I don’t subscribe to their cloud storage

You’re right, I was going based on their description. It’s actually higher than 2K. https://amcrest.com/4mp-wifi-camera-doorbell-ad410.html

I’m sure they could, but how many people have Ethernet at their doorbell? We recently built a new home, so I had the opportunity to hardwire all of our cameras, except the doorbells. There just weren’t great options that I could find. Lucki

My Amcrest AD410 doorbell encodes 2K (2560x1920) video at 15fps 24/7, and my previous Nest camera did 1600x1200 at 30fps 24/7. I guess it is more a limitation of their specific product than of the category in general.

Only somewhat related: My personal laptop is an older Dell Latitude 7370 (m7-6Y75) running Fedora 36. I had to reinstall using ext4 due to the performance impact of the default btrfs w/ compression. I was surprised at the difference it

Reading that thread, it sounded like OPs issue was more with an extension blocking something than the browser, but I’ll admit, I do not use GoDaddy, so I haven’t experienced it first hand.

AdGuard Home really is great. One really doesn’t need to set up docker if they don’t want, since it’s a single self-contained binary.

I also have Metronet, but haven’t found any compelling reason for a static IP. I use Tailscale for remote access, and though I don’t host anything from home currently, Cloudflare Tunnel should work.
