It’s not though. Not even close. And I know this partially a matter of taste but I have one of the fastest computers you can buy and I can’t even participate in text chats without input lag and delays in interaction. It’s not a good user ex

Speed in relative terms means that JavaScript in the browser is not fast. The language runs on top of just about as many abstraction layers as possible and I do not envy this world you describe. I wish we’d move away from it.

We're essentially trying to do the minimum possible in the US, with the hope that if we cut enough corners, we won't have to rely on legislation, cause that would never take place in a timely manner.

Let's not ever decide anything based on the anti-vax or anti-rich crowd. Whether they are or aren't significant is impossible to quantify, changes from moment to moment and honestly doesn't matter.

I remember the story about some guy saying he had to piss in a bottle at the amazon warehouse...I believe that story, but I also believe if you take any random sample of half a million people, at least 1 person in that group will be peeing

Quick example off the top of my head is the built-in sorted function. That returns a new list if I'm not mistaken.

Then that's even worse! They're counting on the fact that you're going to look at one item, to make you see theirs. The point isn't that Amazon is great, it's just that stores do the exact same dumb shit and we'
