If I understood it correctly, is more like something to run inside firecracker. Is like a toolkit to build a really small os to run a single application, that then you run on top of a hypervisor.

Not OP, but i remember having a camera that use AAs and would not support rechargeable. While it powered up, it would not take photos and instead shutdown. I think they used to be able to deliver less power, also when i put them in the game

sure, it can be done, but is not a solution to the problem as it will still leave a lot of people vulnerable. We, probably, need to rethink how we handle identity on the web but is a hard problem to solve

Yes, as far I know. To avoid this problem, I still carry in my bag two ethernet-to-usb adapter and an Ethernet cable to be able to quickly connect two devices together.
