In college you are forced to learn all the boring stuff about code readability, data structures and algorithms, code life cycles,etc... Most of those I know who have taught themselves code (engineers, physicists, statisticians and mathemati

Most risk capital is lost? We hold risk capital for a 7bp event (99.93% chance the situation will be better than this). Then we have prudent margins. Why the fuck would we burn through 90% of our risk capital most of the time?

I didn't say I didn't find it interesting. I said it reads like a telephone book. I actually liked that the information seemed to me to be compressed.

The concept of streaming disturbs me, because I know I would have been streamed into a delinquent centre for always being bored and acting up (also, I'd have been killed during fascism, nazi times, communism, the inquisition, and the witch

How many gmail accounts do we need to band together to lower the rank of stack overflow against our super-duper question-and-answer site QandAdsWithMe.annoying.com?

I read some of the chapter on the origin of cos and sine. It reads a bit like the telephone book, or possibly a dictionary. Either way, I am going to ignore the copyright, download it to my electric book, and read much of it.

Very few, and why does anybody buy their stock? This guy I know has been borrowing more and more money for years and never paid a red cent back, and now you want to lend him your money?

1. Why is the ipad considered an eReader, when it is just a little computer? I thought eReader meant using electrically-modifiable ink, not light-based retina-burners. 2. As a second point, my android device is a little baby computer, with

I did a PhD, a postdoc, and I worked from home for a little while. Home time mostly seems unproductive. I find it useful not to regret and just to try and do a little bit more each day.

Is that last list comprehension really much better though, keeping in mind that most of us code in several languages, and might be predominantly context experts rather than coders at the same time? x = [] for i in k: x.extend(len(i)) is

Please don't take this dodgy, pop-psychology to heart and act on it. Dividing people into black-and-white introverts versus extroverts is too simple.

Do you really think that list comprehensions and magic methods make code more readable, or did I read that the wrong way around?
