Good luck asking people to turn off BT. It’s a faf having to do that in an era of smartwatches and wireless headphones.

Not official, but this one generally works great: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/icloud-hide-my-ema... There’s also this nifty shortcut that works for both iOS and macOS: https://www.icloud.c

Unless Reddit rectifies, that sounds like the end of Apollo. I feel like old.reddit.com is next in the chopping board. Perhaps we need to go back to the browser and reskin the heck out of Reddit.

I find satisfying things that would be close to real life in a raw way. So for instance, a button that looks, feels and sounds like a button. For a todo list, I’d love to be able to cross it out and see, feel, and hear that.

It’s not dead. It was popular because of it’s novelty, and now it’s just another form of communication or content consumption. Unfortunately for Clubhouse, that means that as soon as big social networks copy you, you need to innovate or die

Just fund it as part of taxpayer’s money, like most countries do with public broadcasting.

OSINT is just investigation using publicly-available information. Hence why open source in this context refers to open sources of information (usually online). OSINT was traditionally employed for criminal investigation, but is now growing

No way! I have a humongous list of “term - definition.” and was planning in writing a program to do exactly this! Never got around it due to laziness/lack of prioritisation and this might have just saved me some time and effort. Thank

Why reinvent the wheel? A lot of govt websites have very similar use cases. I would e.g. just get The UK Government Design System, which is really good: https://github.com/alphagov/govuk-design-system

This comment breaks HN guidelines: Please don't complain about tangential annoyances—things like article or website formats, name collisions, or back-button breakage. They're too common to be interesting. Source: https:/&#

Used it plenty. Easy, cheap, and stable. Good support. Opted to self-host when I heard they use GCP. No regrets when using Passenger.

Can we get an open source gig economy app where 75% of the profits go to gig workers? Then 7.5% would go towards employee rights and benefits of gig workers, 7.5% towards contributors improving the software, and 10% towards customer support

I cringe with so many web3 conversations assuming that it will replace the current web. It’ll be a layer of abstraction on top of it, the same way web 2.0 was on 1.0. Also, no one’s going to flip a switch and turn the web into something new
