I disagree with the part about religion and family. Don't give them ammo to discriminate against you.

I would like to think I'm a reasonably truthful person, and back when I was interviewing for a job, I always replied with the "work too hard" line. In part because I I sometimes do work too hard (don't we all?) but mostly because... how to

Wow, I bet that would be the www.wishbass.com Wishnevsky -- I actually have one of his basses; alas, it's too neck-heavy for me to play comfortably. But then, it was a one-off prototype based on a crazy idea of mine (how about a bass guitar

Yes, back in the day the Unix desktop was OK for development, compared to alternatives like DOS. But then, the Unix vendors also had almost complete control of the hardware stack. Seems that Alan Kay is right again: "People who are really

I don't know... comments here have always had a dose of healthy skepticism. Now, if I never again read a comment starting with "meh", "yawn" or "shrug", I will die a happy man.

Looks great, very professional. The only problem I'm seeing is (in Chrome/WinXP) some white letters on the top left hand corner. Debugging messages maybe? Something like "Mem 38.66MB/ ... count: 0" on top of the "Story before bed" logo. Thi

I don't thinks it's a matter of the superior people vs the rabble. I'm sure a forum of 100 random YouTube commenters would be infinitely better than the YouTube comments section. It's a broken windows problem -- you see a forum where it's a

Hi, the link tries to install some app on my (non-existent) iPhone. Is this the app? http://appshopper.com/navigation/gaia-gps-lite Based on the screenshot, my only nitpick would be that the colors on the compass are a bit too toned down.

I guess many users would pay $0 just so they can skip going through their internal procurement process. (Which in some places can be a hassle when buying software at any non-zero price.)

I guess it may work better if it's your underlings trying to interrupt, as is likely to be the case with Andreessen. Your boss or your users will probably be less impressed by an iPod. Maybe if it was a phone headset...

When I was 27 I would have found offensive to be called "a 27-year-old". Which age range do you need to belong to to be taken seriously? Because if he had been 67, he would also be referred to with a dismissive "a 67-year-old".
