I cannot fanthom working in a team without code reviews for every commit. It increases the quality of code by such a huge quantum. A system where you put your code up for review, and anyone in the team can review it (like the git pull reque

It's not the split that's annoying, it's the delay when the page refreshes. If only advertisers and media companies could agree to pre-load articles like in a slide-show, show new pages with javascript, and that each 'next-page' click count

It means that the data from one user has no relations to the data from another user. So most if not all their queries only query the data of one user. This is really useful for things like sharding, where you can split a database table onto

Did LightSquared not know about GPS noise before bidding on the spectrum they received? Maybe LightSquared got their spectrum for cheap because there was so much noise and nobody else could find a use for it.

I am really happy to not work for RIM. They were a premier tech company 5 years ago but now they are visibly circling the toilet. It must be a very unpleasant place to work.

Exactly. The number one thing javascript should take from coffeescript is the iteration syntax.

There's good game design around luck (randomness) and bad game design around luck. Monopoly has a lot of randomness, and it is hard to design a strategy to mitigate bad luck, which is probably why it isn't worth playing more than a few time
