You mean Ctrl+[. I use this sometimes too. You can also use Ctrl+j for enter (in the shell too). Life changing for me was binding my control key (which is, rightfully, in the typical caps lock position) to register as escape when pressed br

I just bought two MBR albums. In the simplest terms, I would describe the project as baroque synth metal. It's really in a category of its own though. I don't know how to describe "industrial" really, but the music defin

I am, in fact! Good guess! I was actually referring to the related project Gallowbraid. Caladan Brood is great too. Ironically, I heard about both of these bands from a friend in Germany. https://gallowbraid-northernsilence.bandc

I love that Bandcamp provides FLAC downloads. I have racks of CDs and I'm not keen on buying more physical items which I just rip and listen to digitally. A FLAC download completely replaces a CD for me. And for my convenience they als

Routinely assembling in large crowds during a pandemic is an absolutely stupider idea. I'm not saying there isn't something worth protesting right now, but the timing is far from ideal.

I've been in CS gas chambers multiple times over the past 20 years. No big deal. Should be even less of a problem for people sucking a bit of gas in the open air, not deliberately breathing it.

Not really. CS is banned by a technicality. An irritant gas is hard to distinguish from a lethal one and easily swapped if chemical delivery systems are already present on the battlefield. CS is quite useless against a conventional force be

Those paintballs are filled with oleoresin capsicum (OC) which is a far more persistent and "persuasive" substance. Getting hit with a CS paintball would be ineffectual due to the small amount and the fact that it wears off quickl

Once a face is captured that image data can be retained forever while the image recognition continually improves and then repeatedly reprocessed for matches. Best not to show your face at all if you don't want to be held accountable.

I run Steam under a different user account (and X server). It takes care of the junky home directory problem. However, the main reason is because I don't trust all the random game developers.

My experience from nearly 20 years of gaming on Linux: Just because a developer can support a platform, doesn't mean they will (sadly). It becomes less likely with any additional complications such as special libraries.

Incidentally, forgetting I had inverted colors for nighttime reading, to me the image looked like a fuzzy peach colored microphone or something similar. Took me a while to figure out how it was obscene! :)
