I can't help but wonder what PM tools Atlassian developers use. Surely it can't be JIRA? Maybe they have some browser extensions that make the interface less frustrating.

I'd probably support a page similar to the one used to warn you about certificate problems. "This page is using a user-hostile interface that may cause you to interact with unintended elements. Do you want to proceed?" But, y

Google announced that they would start charging back in January and extended the deadline by two months already. IMO this is plenty of time for small businesses that want to save $72/year per employee that needs their own email address

IIRC when I experienced this the logs were all in some binary format that couldn't easily be less'd. tbh I didn't do much investigation other than to see the "delete all your logs" resolution suggestion. There could

I don't know if this is still an issue but the last time I used journald the logs would occasionally become corrupted and journalctl would refuse to read them. The fix was to just delete the logs. I have no idea how logging got so scre

I'd absolutely accept 10% pay for a four hour schedule, but I have been working for a long time and have built up enough investments to live on that and gains. It's nearly early retirement. I don't think I'd do it if I w

How would you organize labor and resources such that there is no elite class? How do you enforce whatever rules are required and ensure that those enforcers don't become the elite themselves (if nobody else..)?

WaPo's opinion articles are by far the worst thing about their paper, and some of the writers are worse than others (Thiessen is a master of bad faith arguments and dishonesty), so I've been avoiding reading them. I wish they had

It's too bad the Apple news app is so user hostile. If you block a news source they don't remove it from any grids, they just hide images and text and replace it with something saying you've blocked the source. I block a lot

I want to subscribe to a local paper but I can't get over the fact that they charge 3x as much as I pay for a Washington Post subscription. There just isn't that much news going on here.

Combine that with the CLA plague and you have a recipe for nothing but corporate-backed open source contributions. Individuals need not apply.

Sometimes incremental change happens, like the ACA, sometimes people go all accelerationist[0]/Bernie-or-bust on us and then someone vastly worse[1] gets elected. Seems like it's more the latter than the former these days consider

Further, neither side (seems to) accept incremental change and loves making the perfect the enemy of the good -- especially, imo, the left -- so they get nothing and complain about it.

All they needed to do to be honest (if that was their goal, questionable) was separate out costs associated with the business from costs associated with the building. They could still argue that the costs are too high for starting a restaur
