I think you're more likely to stick to and maintain todos on a mobile device that syncs to the cloud. Maybe that's just how I'm wired, but I never could stick to any one system until I got a smartphone, now I run my life out of it.

Took a bit under an hour on my machine. Core i7, 12GB of RAM, 10k RPM HDDs. The built executable worked first time too, which was impressive for a project of that size, given that it was the very latest bleeding edge trunk source code. For

Technology isn't static, there will be a time when the quality from a phone camera is "good enough" that the whole first part of the diatribe becomes moot, arguably for most people it's already at that stage. My Olympus digital camera from

I'm aware of the performance hit, I just like the approach of a BigDecimal literal instead of having to write that boilerplate.

This seems like the right way to do it. Though, I assume non-suffixed literals are still regular floats?

My point is, this is elementary stuff that you need to know as a computer scientist or self-taught hacker. Whether you can convert a decimal number into its binary IEEE-754 equivalent, or not, is besides the point. You just need to know tha

I have to question the value of CS educations when a post of this nature pops up every couple of weeks, as if it is news that floating point arithmetic as implemented today, is by its nature an approximation, and that this is more noticeabl

There's a difference between the level of programming required to build a proof of concept, and the level required to make it do anything off the beaten path. I think it's well established that it's never been easier to get a web applicatio
