Why is he being down voted? Surely you may disagree, but it is not so far away from reality that it is more democratized now than a few decades ago.

As someone mentioned up above, the author probably didn't tune the bucket number appropriately.

Seems like an interesting cross between Python and C#. Any multi-line lambdas? edit: Read into it a bit more. I may wrong, but it doesn't seem to have nested functions and their lambdas are just basically anonymous delegates, not real .NET

A counter part to the viral loop is the concept of viral channels. It is important to realize that the more often a viral channel is exploited (see e-mail, app notifications), the less effective it becomes until it actually starts harming y

Same here. Stared at the big wall of text. Not quite sure what I was supposed to do--both options (sign-up / download) turned me off.

We had an old demo but we have since revamped the entire architecture. Would a video suffice?

I find Netflix's recommendations to be far superior. Participants in the Netflix Prize have found that content-based filtering (such as "nano categories") actually hurts relevancy (in RMSE terms) when working with large data sets. That is,

I've always wondered if the advice to avoid argument and criticism from "How to Win Friends and Influence People" was at odds with internal business meetings. It seems that extremely successful businessmen like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and L

I hope not. I know the founders of iMafia and I hope they've built enough of a first mover's advantage of the iPhone to survive this. They managed to beat out Mafia R&R by SGN but the "Mafia Wars" brand name may be too overwhelming.

It seems 37signals is running out of things to be contrarian about. It is easy to "invert" a saying like "learn from your failures" and make it seem profound but that doesn't make it any more valuable or useful. It is easy to learn from suc
