Obviously Heroku have handled this horribly - but are any small startups out there considering replatforming? Still seems like a lot of hassle and the competition I've tried (Cloud66, excid3's thing) haven't been as good.

Can a mod give this a better title? The full title is "Writing about my job: Software Engineer at Wave"; sorta burying the lede by not saying what the job actually is!

EU outage towards the end of last year was similarly bad, but lasted much longer. Asked Heroku for at least a refund for the dyno time when our apps were unavailable and was flatly told no.

You can just hold the AirTag to an NFC-enabled phone and it'll open a webpage with the tag's details.

FYI it's not really "down" - Heroku apps are still up and running. But the API (and so Dashboard and CLI) are down.

> a massive amount of oil was lit on fire How much is a "massive amount"? Lots of people at Burning Man would have flown in; a 4000 mile flight burns 50 gallons of fuel (around 340lb) per passenger which I imagine is considerab

Seems broken - I'm seeing a 403 from a GET request to https://api.kommit.to/v1/user/instance-review and then api.ts blows up at line 333. Tried to submit this in the app as a support ticket and also got a 403

On the contrary, VanMoof promise to get your stolen bike back within two weeks or they replace it. Had mine stolen in London; they located it the same day and got it back to me the following week. Combined with an AirTag hidden discreetly i

In e.g. the Algol example, it seems like you just get a function which can accept an Algol program as a string and run it. Seems quite different from what's been done in this case.
