Schematics on such specialized, highly integrated chips with unknown internals are almost useless from a security standpoint.

As stated above, X220 + 660GTX. If I recall correctly, am missing out on about 30% of the 3dmark points I should be getting by combining the GPU with a CPU of that speed level. As far as I know though, It's still faster than any laptop

Can I format links nicely here? It's a PE4L by hwtools.net [1]. And no, no BIOS fiddling was neccessary. Actually I just hot-plugged the thing first time, right into a running Windows 7. Windows Update went and downloaded the NVidia d

Don't care about NDAs as much. At least not as much as about cut tape availability at the usual distributors. I'm fine as long as I can buy 100 chips at mouser instead of buying an obscure reel in shenzen (as might be the case for

Will do! I'm finishing up the design right now, and I plan to go DIY first anyways in order to get some quick feedback, circumvent expensive EMI certification, and to sell some units before having to go into case manufacturing. As soon

There usually are antenna output pins even on some of the cheapest Bluetooth modules, and I plan to go for an all metal case anyways. You've certainly got a point though ;-)

Very nice. I'm right now sitting in front of a schematics of a nice modern modular stereo hi-fi amplifier that I'm building. I made sure to leave plenty of internal interconnects for BTO radio modules, so that I could accomodate f

I don't like the tone of this article. Articles like this were written after each and every single crash, which eventually led to sharper requirements, more certification, added security gizmos and thingies and more safe-ropes in every

I have little practical experience with IT security, but I like to look at these issues from the side of the customer. There's a quote I like to repeat: "If you prioritize security over accessibility, you'll have a perfectly

What the OP didn't show was the integral of response times for an average set of read accesses, e.g. The typical expected waiting time. With a latency difference of 1/50k second vs 1/100 second, even 1 on 500 queries missing

Why can a software camera app be better quality than the original one, which is just supposed to feed data from the CCD to flash? You aren't interpolating, are you.

Just to make sure I understand the problem ... wouldn't the simplest solution be a 5m audio cable hanging from the drone with a wind-shielded microphone at the bottom? I realize there are all kinds of dynamic problems with a setup like
