http://tools.suckless.org/dmenu/ is the best implementation of this pattern. It’s sad how browser’s select element usually grinds to a halt with a dictionary of words whilst dmenu feels instant.

Amount of "otel" instrumentation required in your code by LOC looks ridiculous to me. Isn't it a better approach to just use logs? e.g. defer ctx.WithField("path", path).Trace("opening").Stop(&err) fro

I encourage to follow developers like https://twitter.com/tjholowaychuk/ who are making the cloud / infra far better from a Developer Experience perspective.

He doesn't appear to show his ffmpeg invocation let alone his report, which is a shame. I wonder which hardware accelerates h265 encoding on Linux.

I always assumed Python could scale because of Reddit: https://github.com/reddit-archive/reddit Not quite sure if their current site's code is opensource... anyone know?

Developers using mmap broke the utility of strace for me. Using mmap makes it pretty much impossible to debug what a program is actually doing!

Communication breakdown. It's a bit naughty how "security researchers" don't appear to make a good effort to communicate upstream. And the fact that Jerry has problems reaching out to NVD or Mitre is worrying.

Just some counter arguments to @jbergknoff's well put together page! Docker is the best medium for distributing - A static file is far easier to share / distribute. Cross-platform - You need an arguably complex and unstable Linux
