> Uh, isn't that "move" enforcement of the results of multilateral negotiation (the EU and its rules)? Well in that case, shouldn't it actually be Ireland that got fined instead of retroactively taxing Apple?

When I learned Norwegian, my teacher used to joke that all of Scandinavia spoke Norwegian. It's just that the Swedes were pronouncing things wrong and the Danish couldn't spell it correctly.

I'm definitely not an expert on this, but how the article describes it is you basically implement an AST with "execute" methods on its nodes. So that's just an interpreter that happens to use the Truffle framework to imp

You're not compiling to Java though. You're writing an AST walking interpreter, so you should be able to implement continuations and TCO just fine.

Well at least it would help you avoid warm-up for the interpreter/compiler itself, so it might help a bit.

That Remain pulled ahead is somewhat irrelevant though. That seems to be mostly due to London reporting in, which was always expected to vote Remain. What's relevant (for this model at least) is whether the results are higher or lower

There's Typed Racket [1] and for Clojure there's core.typed [2]which do pretty much that. For Clojure there's also Schema [3], which is a bit lighter weight (it's not a full type system), but still gets you some of the b

Yeah, another example that comes to mind is Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants, where the efficiency of power generation is actually lower, but the heat that's normally wasted is made useful.

It's not just Germany by the way. I think this applies in most of Europe where patriotism is closely linked with nationalism because of our history. For example, in the UK showing an English flag is immediately associated with the BNP.

I found this interesting because ride-sharing is often characterized as a winner-takes-all market. Most of the insanely high valuations seem to be based on that as well. Juno seems to think there's opportunity to enter this market quit

I really liked the video last month about webrender, which really looked like the future of rendering web content. It sounds like this Houdini stuff would not work so well with a webrender type infrastructure? That would be a real shame and
