Does it lead to kids changing their dietary habits? I would have to guess not. If it did, would it be justifiable? The effectiveness of the product should be discussed first then the cost effectiveness of the product can be considered. Ther

Yes, humans now have a better understanding on how the fundamental building blocks of the universe work. Has this directly affected your quality of life, no. Do you derive enjoyment from knowing that your fellow man now has a better underst

The way you're using thermodynamics to support your point is wrong, you are asserting that the human body is a closed system, which of course it is not. A human will absorb and excrete carbohydrates, fats and proteins at differing rates

I am aware that these facilities exist, the problem is geography. Unless you live near a ridge that provides 100m+ of head and consists of non-porous rock, it wouldn't be cost effective.

It just takes a lot of water and space to make any meaningful dent in the power supply. There are hydroelectric storage facilities near Niagara falls but they produce something like 50MW for a very limited time. If you take for instance an

You kind of jump around from point to point. If your hand is wrapped around a a source of electricity (Assuming that it's not static charge and can provide a current equal to the source voltage over your bodies resistance) I'm sor

In a video Musk addressed this. The 18650 batteries are produced on such a large scale that they provide the cheapest source of prefabricated batteries on the market. I would guess that this would change once the Tesla battery production fa

Not sure where this myth started, the idea that somehow AC is less dangerous to handle at high voltages over DC. Wall socket AC alternates at ~50Hz, that's an oscillation every 0.02sec, for perspective, the average human reaction time

If you believe that the government should be manipulating immigration rates to interfere with the costs of labor in a 'free' labor market you really shouldn't call yourself a libertarian.

Since the 1970s the Asian population as a percentage has grown more than 5x (greater multiple than all other demographics) You would expect that if the median age of a CEO is in the 50s the enrollment numbers of Asians back then (1970-80) w

This situation is more akin to Amazon building it's warehouse on UPS's land to get shipments out (for a fee of course). The prior situation would be if amazon shipped via US post to UPS, then UPS ships to destination. Ideally the

This is already the case. Gas plants take very little time to start up and shutdown. Combining thermal storage with the solar plant allows it to act as more of a base load power system. I would guess the goal is allowing utility companies t

What a ridiculous comment. Large budget in comparison to what? So the scientists who have dedicated their academic lives to research are just in it for the money? Does NASA waste the $16.6 Billion they receive? The Saturn 5 was developed fo

What's more redundant than having a copy of the file saved across every device you own. It's not like the information is lost if dropbox's servers go down for a short period of time. I've never had a problem with dropbox, so far in my eyes
