I can not make out how those things were chosen. A lot of Ikea furniture, a random selection of bollards, Dolly Parton, and a Yellow-Spotted Millipede.

The philosophy of nonexisting things can be confusing. Most people agree things like zombies, ghosts, and vampires do not actually exist in the physical world. But they do exist as concepts, and we have a fair understanding of what the word

I hate the way the web site wobbles up and down for no reason. And even after scrolling down to the end of the front page, I don't have any idea why this should be a good idea, or what kind of problems it might solve. Meh!

That was one very good reason for me to choose a FairPhone. (Almost?) everything is user replaceable. It has been in my pocket for a could of years and I have not needed to replace anything yet. But I do like having the option.

Wonderful idea. All I need to is to create an encrypted file with pedo pictures or terrorist plans or just white noise, send a copy to all my enemies, and tip off the authorities.

Interesting idea. Well put it on the list of things I should try some day. After a quick look at the site, I like the idea. But I wonder where it's limitations start to get in the way. How about security, if I can modify the page, who

I have been speculating on adding a tar pit on my personal web site. A script that produces a page of random nonsense and random looking links to the same script. The thing not linked to anywhere, but explicitly forbidden on robots.txt. If

Citation needed. I honestly do not know what you are referring to. Even if I had to take your "sexual predator" at face value, I would still have to balance that against the good stable reliable distro they have been done for so m

I was doing that for a few decades. Had to wear contacts for my astigmatism. Had my right dominant eye optimized for long distance, and the left with +1 or so for reading. I started to use cheap reading glasses on top when reading a lot. Ha

Not true in all of Europe. Here in Denmark you need to have the state-issued identification app MitId ("My Id"), and most (all?) banks use it for authentication. Both for websites, and even when making a (larger?) transfer in thei

Nice. My only gripe is that the map is not very easy to read, especially on the smaller sizes. There are too many coast lines and borders, so it can be hard to locate countries, especially in the Mediterranean. Would it be possible to draw

Reminds me of the anecdote of an early fisherman who cast his net, looked at that catch, and concluded that fishes have scales and fins, and are always at least 5cm long.

Adding "invisible" text in a paper seems clearly fraudulent. I don't buy the argument that it is just to catch reviewers using AI, not when the text tells the AI to give positive reviews. In my opinion we should invoke the us

Caching is simple, yes. The hard part is in the last word, invalidation. Even that is manageable for a single process. But as soon as you have multiple (threads / processes / nodes / data centers) updating the data, it does g
