Small example to show that performance can be great: Phoenix (the Rails-comparable web framework for Elixir) defaults to listing microseconds instead of milliseconds for response times.

I really like Supermaven, which lives inside my existing VSCode install. I didn’t love the idea of switching editors (even with extension porting) so I haven’t tried cursor. Supermaven was miles ahead of Githhb copilot for me.

I don’t know if Jeremy will see this, but: At my org it’s hard to get justification for donations. However if this was something like ~100$ a year or whatever per dev, I’d be paying it today for my team.

I’d be curious how this compares to supermaven, my current favourite AI autocomplete.

Not a battery expert, but this seems the right ballpark for useful batteries. Back of envelope stuff: 1liter for 18Wh. 1k liter 18KWh (this is an average hot tub). 10k litre for 180Kwh. This is a ~$1000 farming tank. ~100KWh lithium batteri

Why not? The skeleton model doesn’t appear to be doing full skin simulation, it simulates repulsion of the skeleton.

I’m also interested in your take on it, if you wanted to publish a response publicly. Would love something like this for enterprise SaaS clients.

Assuming this means 25/75 percent, there is a strong counterpoint to this: 99% of the work is ahead of you. 95% of the risk is ahead of you. So why get only 25% if the CEO gets 75? Here’s a split I would want if joining an early startu

It's somewhat naive to think that politics and life are not intertwined. There is no "getting the work done" without a huge amount of hidden politics. Bravo to this community for being explicit about it.

Question: hasn't around.co been doing this for years? I remember using that tool in 2022 or so, multiple people in a room with this kind of audio sync / cancellation.

I agree, and I don't think this is a good ad for all those reasons. But if you want to infer values of the company from an ad, and say things like "Apple wants to destroy pianos", then considering the intent of the author is

There's a real element of media literacy (or lack thereof) that we have to consider in this issue. What was the intent of the media? This is obviously open to interpretation, but to me I see the intent being that all these tools for cr

This is an XY problem in my experience. The problem is not desk wiggle, it's monitor and webcam wiggle. I mounted my monitor to my wall with an ergotron arm, and now I haven't noticed a single desktop wiggle.

The point is valid though. Yes Rails is particularly bad, but I've been working with Ruby for ~15 years now, and plenty of non-rails codebases in that time. The metaprogramming and implicitness runs deep in most of the community, it&#x
