South up is fine. This article lost me when they suggested east up, west up, or "any compass bearing". That's not how planets work. Anyways, VR/AR globes will solve these problems pretty quickly.

I wonder if you could do something similar with a student loan/financial aid program. The company doesn't take on the risk of building a university, but can set curriculum and performance standards to maintain the scholarship. If

Yep. It's amortized about $50k/year over the five years active requirement. You can also leave any time in the first two years of school without any penalty. And they don't throw you in the brig, you get a tax lien. It sucks,

The press was selective in what Snowden released. As far as we know, Snowden wasn't selective in what he obtained, or in what he then provided to adversary intelligence services in China and Russia. I don't like what Snowden did,
