In my first year of college, learning games development, I was told repeatedly that a lazy programmer is a good programmer. Why do work when someone else has done it already? (It was meant in terms of code re-use, but that transfers nicely

There were sixty million[0] PSN accounts. This is impressive, and amounts to (judging by a quick search) the largest-scale ID (and possibly credit-card) theft ever [Not so, see child comment]. Not even factoring in credit card details, the

That's fantastic! I might finally be idly productive in C++ as I am in javascript. In javascript, I find that you can just write code , while in C++ I feel that I need to plan out every design choice, need to protect against everything. Wh

Yes, but the "we have billions of years to get this right" model generally doesn't apply to software dev. ;)

That's definitely technically impressive. The thing is, though, I will never understand why people show this kind of thing off. Nobody is going to make a video like this in SVG except when they're showing off the capability of the browser -

This is fantastic! Not just the algorithm, but the explanation, the fact that there's source code readily available, and the canvas demo. Please, do more!

There are a fairly large number of "real life superheroes," actually ( http://reallifesuperheroes.org ). None of them have magical superpowers that let them control the tides or have Adamantium skeletons, but hell, it's something. My partic

This is almost entirely off-topic, but wow, I'm stunned by the massive amounts of (what looks to be) misogyny going on there. Now, I may be skewed by the fact that if my girlfriend had done that, I would have married her on the spot (don't

No, I wouldn't. Flax uses <canvas> when it's available, and a fallback for when it's not, so it more or less works on a decent number of browsers, platform independent.

Something else to note, though, is that a large number of twitter users use twitter clients. This means that the traffic looks direct when it is, in fact, from twitter.

I think that most other parody accounts have "This is a parody account" or something resembling that in their publicly visible descriptions. As the letter the fake account's operator got only said to mark the account as fake, that may do. T

I hate sites that don't tell me what they are at first glance. I don't know what this is and I'm not going to watch a video to find out. I am an average user with a short attention span, and I'd give you advice on targeting people like me,
